This how-to describs how to install, configure Dansguardian with NTLM auth and multi-group configurations on Debian Etch, and get around some hurdles along the way.<\/p>\n
Install Debian Etch with the base system only.<\/p>\n
Add the following line to your \/etc\/apt\/sources.lst:<\/p>\n
vi \/etc\/apt\/sources.list<\/p>\n
deb http:\/\/download.webmin.com\/download\/repository sarge contrib
\ndeb http:\/\/www.backports.org\/debian etch-backports main contrib non-free<\/p>\n
wget -O - http:\/\/backports.org\/debian\/archive.key | apt-key add -<\/p>\n
apt-get update
\napt-get install debian-backports-keyring<\/p>\n
Edit \/etc\/apt\/preferences and enter the following:<\/p>\n
vi \/etc\/apt\/preferencesPackage: clamav

\nPin-Priority: 999
\nPackage: clamav-base
\nPin: release a=etch-backports
\nPin-Priority: 999

\napt-get install squid dansguardian samba winbind \u2013y<\/p>\n
Edit \/etc\/dansguardian\/dansguardian.conf and comment out line 3.<\/p>\n
dpkg-reconfigure dansguardian
\napt-get install webmin libcompress-zlib-perl<\/p>\n
Run ifconfig and make note of the IP address listed for eth0.<\/p>\n
ifconfig<\/p>\n
Now open a web browser on another machine and goto https:\/\/IPRecordedEarlier:10000\/ and log on with root.<\/p>\n
On the left hand menu goto Webmin > Webmin Configuration > Webmin Modules.<\/p>\n
Select Third party module from and click Select.<\/p>\n
In the new window that opens search for Dansguardian.<\/p>\n
Click it and then click Install Module.<\/p>\n
Refresh the page after the module has been installed.<\/p>\n
Now on the left hand side of the page go to Servers > Dansguardian and click on View\/Edit Config. Enter 127.0.0.1 into the Filter IP dialog and change the filter port to 3130.<\/p>\n
